I started today with a horrible headache and just felt lousy. I thought my blood pressure might be up so I went over to our work’s nurse practitioner office to check things out. My blood pressure was a little high at 136/86 and she also checked my urine which revealed some trace amounts of protein. So I called my doctors office and even though I have an appointment for tomorrow they wanted me to come in today. Unfortunately, Karlis was in Huntsville to take some final exams so I was on my own. I didn’t have to wait long once I got there which was good because all I really wanted to do was go home and lay down. They checked my urine there and couldn’t find anything and my nurse said that by then whatever amounts I had in me could have been flushed out if I had been drinking a lot. I drink a lot on a daily basis so this was no surprise. My blood pressure had dropped to a reasonable point so they said they would just keep a watch on it. My doctor still wanted blood drawn to make sure nothing showed toxemia. My doctor checked her heartbeat which was amazing because we have never heard it before. I have always had ultrasounds every visit starting with our IVF doctor so there just wasn’t ever a chance. But today I heard it and it was amazing. I hate Karlis missed it. After that I was free to go since I would be back the next day for our regular appointment. We should get our blood results then. Hopefully everything will be ok.
