It's a GIRL!!
The doctor came in and said everything looks good but we do have a few things going on....great. Just what every nervous pregnant couple want to hear.
She said that they could not get a picture of some of the toes and fingers on the right side. She acted like this was basically an ultrasound thing and not to worry. So we get to have another ultrasound in 4 long weeks. We have been so spoiled in getting these every couple of weeks. We do have some pictures from our in-vitro doctor of little hands and feet and everything looked to be there, so we will try not to worry with this.
Also, I have complete placenta previa. This means that my placenta is lying unusually low in my uterus and is covering my cervix .Placenta previa is not usually a problem early in pregnancy but if it persists into later pregnancy, it can cause bleeding (just what I need...more bleeding). And if it is still present as the due date gets closer I will have to have a c-section to deliver. Which is fine by me. I don't really care how we have her just as long as we get her safely.
Also, it looks like I might be carrying a cute little whopper of a baby. My appointment was yesterday and I was exactly 19 weeks and 0 days. Technically the baby should weigh around 7.5 ounces. Our little cheeseburger weighed in at 11 ounces. At 20 weeks the baby should be 8-10 ounces for a normal size baby at delivery. We have clearly passed this and we aren't even at 20 weeks yet. The doctor says not to worry and they would much rather have a big baby than a small baby. Which is true. So looks like things are going well and she is a healthy eater. Maybe she loves all the sweet tarts her mom has been living off of. :)
One last thing, watch this link (it is so going to be my husband when our baby is born).
